Role Description
This is a full-time remote role at Techwaresoft. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Server Engineer to manage and optimize our Linux and virtualization infrastructure in both physical and virtual environments. The ideal candidate will design, configure, secure, and maintain enterprise-grade Linux systems while ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with security standards. This role requires hands-on expertise in Ubuntu, Red Hat, and VMware environments with responsibility for system upgrades, patching, and infrastructure automation. The position involves close collaboration with Infrastructure, Security, and Development teams while providing 24x7 production support when required.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5–7 years of hands-on experience in Linux and Virtualization engineering
- Proven experience in large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills
- Experience supporting production and development environments
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
Responsibilities
- Manage and support Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and VMware virtualized environments
- Manage enterprise storage integrations (SAN/NAS)
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and security hardening
- Collaborate with Security, Engineering, and Operations teams
- Support application deployments and infrastructure requirements
Must Have
- Advanced expertise in Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux & Ubuntu)
- Strong experience with VMware vCenter and vSphere
- Solid scripting skills (Bash, Python, Perl, or similar)
- Experience implementing automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- Strong Linux security and patch management experience
Nice to have
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite deployment and management
- Exposure to SAN/NAS storage and enterprise networking
- Experience supporting enterprise databases and applications
- Experience in multinational IT software development environments
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning and high-availability architectures
